I've never tried to convince someone or tried it. But why couldn't a special card be used to follow up a teamwork?
Because universe bonuses can only be applied to power cards. There are some specials that can combine with universe cards but always basic universe cards.

this is probably just an oversight for the wiki. The meta rules make it clear that Special cards can never be combined with Universe cards, unless they specifically say so.
We copy/pasted these into the wiki from the rulebooks. We didn't clarify each page because "we" pretty much means "me" and I simply don't have the time.
