Title: EB and AI questions. AV as well
Post by: breadmaster on April 12, 2014, 07:09:13 PM
EB: Play during battle. For remainder of game, any attack made on Beast's team may be moved to Stars & Garters. Beast's team may not defend. Stars & Garters is discarded after 1 Hit.

AI: Target hero must discard 1 Placed card of Iceman's choice.

AV: Target character may not attack for remainder of battle.

can AVs be sent to the EB?

can AIs?

and a bonus question.  since iceman must declare which special he wants discarded, can these attacks still be shifted?  the way we usually play is that you can shift, and iceman chooses a new card placed to the new target, but is this correct?

wasn't the ruling that you cannot make a card do nothing?

so no shifting of ai or av.

According to the letter of the rules, no you cannot.

Neither card can be used to target a battlesite or a special, meaning they may not be shifted to said cards either.

A stupid rule, if you ask me, but that's what the metas say.

that makes sense about the EBs and shifting

what about targeted AIs in general then.  since you can't shift an attack to where it will have no effect, and the attacker has already declared the special he wants discarded, does that mean that AIs can't be shifted?

I'm pretty sure shifting the attack is still valid, so long as the new target has something to discard. The attacking player would simply declare a new card to discard, ignoring any previous declaration.
