Talking OP is almost as fun as playing it! Too bad there's no way to get some kind of unofficial quasi tournament circuit going. It would be a kick but I doubt there are enough players left for it to be feasable.
Though I believe correct, this statement on another topic made me wonder where everybody is from. You know, just to see if we are in fact spread across the country/world or closer than we may have thought. ;D
So I'll start.
Currently Nashville, TN but soon to be Atlanta, GA.
I live in East Stroudsburg on the Eastern border of Pennsylvania. I'm about 20 minutes West of from New Jersey, not too much farther than that South-West of New York State, and about 2 hours North of Philadelphia. Unfortunately I usually only get to play during the summers when my brother who I've played OP with since I was a kid is home from college and lately also a friend of mine has been playing when he's up from college.
Toronto, Canada here.
I know of only one other player still in my area. It so happens that we're able to get together once in a while for a day of cards, but still, some variety would be nice.
-BBH
I'm in Springfield Missouri. I'm actually lucky in that there are at least 5 other guys around here, all part of the old OP crowd, who have at least SOME interest in the game still. Usually it's just Rob and myself, but we occasionally manage to talk a few of the others into coming over and playing a few games.
LONG LIVE OP!
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and there is no one to play with in my area that I know of.
Ottawa? Well, that's getting closer. Ever make it down to T.O.?
-BBH
Bay Area, California
Sometimes my folks live in Kitchener.
Cool! We're from cost to cost and there's strong Canadian representation too. Overpower is bringing people together across countries and timezones. ;D
I primarily live in Waterloo, Ontario; but my OverPower cards are in Toronto and I make the trek down once a month on average.

Nice! With Jack in Waterloo, you guys may be able to hook up for a few rounds.
In Toronto, there's me and my regular playing buddy. But I may also be able to convince another retired player to build a few decks and join if there was fresh blood - er - I mean potential players.
If Jack's into it we'd have 5 players. We might be able to plan a fun OP day around a time when you're travelling to your parents' for a visit.
Each with two decks (1 battlesite, 1 anyhero) do a round robin so everyone gets to play everyone. Could be amusing.
What say you?
-BBH
My cards are in Toronto, so having a few rounds in Kitchener can't happen.
I have a few relatives that I regularly play with when I travel back.
I'll let you know next time I'm in the area.
hi - i'm in South Berwick Maine (southern tip). only chance i get to play is when i can pull my 23 year old son's nose out of WoW, which isn't very often.
Hah! I'm 22 and I play with my 25 year old brother. Wish our dad played OP!
I'm from the Jersey Shore. I've said that for years, but sadly it's now literally true as I live in the same town they film that horrible MTV show

Sorry man. That show is... hilarious!
Being from Nashville it's funny to hear some of the stereotypes about us. I've heard some say they think we're all bare-foot, inbred, hillbillies! :D I'm a city-boy myself although it does get kinda strange in Tennessee's more rual parts out east/west. 8)
Redding, CA. It's in northern California, about two hours from Sacramento, about 2.5-3 hours from San Francisco.
You know it would be awesome to get some kind of massive OP action going. Fortunately, me, my brother Josh, and my brother Nic still play regularly. We have a few friends that play off and on (more off than on, lately). Sometimes we even talk my nephew into playing. He's only ten years old but he makes a good partner (as long as you make sure he's using enough power cards, lol).
BTW check out my post in House Rules for our version of Partners OverPower (2vs2)!
Eagle River, Alaska- Just outside of Anchorage. No one that I know of plays in my state.
Alaska? Daaaaamn!!! And I thought the guy in Ottawa was far! :P
Have you got OP online?
-BBH
Yea I played 1/2 a dozen games or so but they were all against Onslaught and I was decimated, destroyed, and demoralize ;) But don't have a computer anymore so I am looking for an IPhone app.

Not that I'm aware of.
I'm haven't played a game of overpower since probably 2002. I played heavily in the late 90's.
I really just collect certain cards these days.
Ann Arbor Michigan
Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. A buddy of mine who plays lives in upper New Jersey, but his collection is still down here in SoFla. I know of another buddy in Orlando, but I havne't got a clue if he's even thought about the game in the past 10 years.

Hi Glenn! Welcome to the forums. Good of you to teach OP to a new generation of players. ;)
I played my first game in 15 years today with my 7 year old son. only played a basic game with the original cards no missions. I built a str deck for him and I used a fighting deck myself. he had Namor, War Machine, Hulk and Thing. I had Wolverine, Sabretooth, Nightcrawler and Captain America. both decks played well and I kept the characters to only having 3 character cards each. he loved it and wants to play against his friends. ftr, I was the winner.... he learned a little bit about holding cards back for defense.... lol

Hey Glenn,
Thanks for sharing that story and experience. Glad to hear you got to play OP again! With all these new comic book movies coming out, I am noticing more interest in comic book heroes from the youngsters so OP is perfect to dust off and teach to a new generation. Those two teams you played with sound so fun. When I was teaching my young niece how to play, she too wasn't holding back for defense. She was always so eager to unleash her strong hits up front. LOL
now that i am in my 30's i feel i can finally use this term... kids... lol. will try another couple of decks tonight. have about 600 cards coming from USA via Ebay. hopefully a few more Str cards...
good luck with that

Wow! That's a nice bunch of cards! Let us know how your other decks worked out. :)
I'm from Brockton, MA. I was hoping to find some other players in MA.
I just joined the forums. I found my cards recently and I've been trying to get my brother-in-law to play a bit. We have a bit more fun just building decks, I think.
alright

Buildings decks is a lot of fun -especially with all the possibilites out there! I tend to build way more then i could ever playtest ;D
Started playing in BC eons ago, moved to Toronto and I'm now living in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Hey. I live near Minneapolis, Minnesota. I started playing around 1998. Sadly most of my friends lost interest over the years, but I've always had love for the game even though it has its flaws.
For the most part I am looking for people to play with. I have a collection that can sustain four players which is the ideal number since my friends and I usually played 2v2 anyway.
welcome to the community
don't recall anyone mentioning being from near you
Tampa, Florida
Cleveland, Ohio
I am in Lake Ariel, PA which is about 30 minutes east of Scranton, PA and about 2 hours west of New York City. I see posts of other players in the area to play Overpower with!!
From Long Island, here.
Currently in the Burlington, Vermont area
So many OP players out in the East Coast, not enough out here in the West. :'(
California, Inland Empire 8)
I am also in Toronto. As are Mike and Garion Sutton as you well know Sean. Marcel Lojet is still in the area somewhere and Jack is a regular visitor. It seems odd that I have to point out that we have enough people in the Toronto area to have regular tournaments, when we have been doing just that every few months.
Regina, Saskatchewan.
New guy from Des Moines, Iowa. DiceK got me started many years ago. Just starting to get some cards again. Still have not found my old stash in my parents attic. Next time I am out in PA, I will HAVE to find them. I am also teaching my 7 year old son how to play. It has been so long, I am re-learning the game with him. I have a feeling I could get a couple of his cousins involved as well. They are in to the super hero thing, so I am trying.

there could possible be an app... With no pictures.
Good ole Oklahoma!
Oswego, New York here
Gresham Oregon
Las Vegas, Nevada. This is where I started playing Overpower, and where I currently reside. I remember the game really gaining a huge player base almost immediately through Mission Control, but around that time a lot of the local comic stores began to close (that mid to late 90's comic boom era was coming to a close), which reduced the places to buy and play the game. On top of that, a lot of players like myself were moving into sophomore / junior year in high school and thus had differant things to spend our money on. For me, it was actually another CCG (Star Wars: CCG, still the best CCG system I've ever played IMO). Also, the guy who ran most of the tournaments I believe his name as Carson, either moved or dropped off the face of the map, because the game simply stopped seeing tournament support everywhere I had left to go.
So with that, the game really died before IQ for me. Cards could still be bought here and there, but seeing OP cards was a pleasant surprise. I actually remember on a whim, blowing my last summer job paycheck on about 30 packs of Justice League and a crap load of candy. I regretted the candy purchase, but Justice League kept me tied into the game. Once I graduated high school, the wonderful world of ebay became my friend and I started buying tons of OP collections for 10-50 dollars a pop, which was affordable as people were selling their sets everywhere it seemed. Thanks to this ebay era, I managed to bring my collection close to what it is today, and only a few purchases of the hard to find cards over the last couple of years have brought me to where I am now.
One thing I do find funny though, is that no matter where I go or who I talk to, EVERYONE remembers Overpower (some still have their cards and I haven't been able to talk them out of them yet). I sometimes ask myself where all these people were back when the game was drying up in 1996, but just being able to pull out my two decks and throwdown a nostalgia game with those players is enough.
But yeah, to answer the question I am from Las Vegas, NV.

Carlos - send me a PM or email me at dlvillano@gmail.com - I had to put overpower down for the past year or so, but I'm starting to pick it up again.
