Title: Goblyn Queen: Goblyn Armada
Post by: Torch on September 09, 2012, 09:49:07 AM
Goblyn Queen:  Goblyn Armada (NS)

Reads:  Opponent may not play any Special cards that affect "the remainder of battle" or "the remainder of game" for the remainder of the battle.

Question:  An attack is declared on Gambit.  Gambit plays Charm (cannot be attacked for remainder of battle).  Can Goblyn Armada be played in response by the attacking player to nullify Charm?

You cannot respond to defensive actions.  The only response in OverPower is a defensive action played in response to an attack.

I figured as much, but thank you for clarifying.

Furthermore, that Goblyn Armada card is offensive, so it couldn't be used defensively against Charm, had Gambit played Charm on his own turn.

e.g.:

Gambit plays Charm to use up a turn, trying to bide time.
Goblyn Queen may not use Goblyn Armada in response.

Since's it's an attack against the Opponent, and not simply a modification to how Goblyn Queen's team may be attacked. This is just like the difference between Snow Blind (Iceman) and Telepathic Coordination (Professor X).
