Custom Cards / Re: 10 plus from DC - justa fo...

to fennshysa: I checked out your Amazo on the "Lots & Lots" thread.  While more thematically correct, I'm not sure it works in an OP environment.  21 points for a character that may not be able to play most cards in your deck (depending on your team build vs. Opponent's team build).  A risky proposition at best.  The only special I disagreed with was the self-negate.  I'm not sure he warrant's that one.

to Majestic - I need to pull an Eeyore here: "Thanks for noticing me."  I am sometimes amazed at all the visits this site gets, yet so few people post.  I'll get over it.

my intent was to even up my DC posts with my Marvel posts - I'm 5 locations & 2 Missions short.  For the first location, I needed to add an extra character (which makes up for the Jubilee: Vampire cards).

JLA Detroit

Specials:
Elongated Man
Firestorm
Gypsy
Martian Manhunter
Steel
Vibe
Vixen

which leads to the first location, Detroit MI

Aspects:
Dale Gunn
Jason Rusch

Nanda Parbat

Aspects:
Judomaster
Rama Kushna

next, I intentionally went lower-tier (& non-legacy) for Blackgate Penitentiary

Aspects:
Island Fortress
Utter Bedlam

Belle Reve  I've seen 50+ characters made for OP that fit in the location.

Aspects:
Implant Trigger
Rick Flag

the last location is primarily from Doom Patrol, with a nod to the New 52 version of the Teen titans.  Doom Patrol characters I've seen made for OP include the team itself, Chief, Elasti-Girl, Negative Man, Robotman, Beast Boy/Changeling. Celcius, Negative Woman, Elongated Man, Metamorpho, and Ambush Bug.  Presenting: Danny The Street

Aspects:
Danny The Ambulance
Danny The Brick
Danny The Island
Danny The World
Dannyland

That's all for now.  Sooner or later I'll be back with 2 Missions.

I've just started back through Maddrox and X-Factor with the Peter David X-Factor Omnibus. I never really thought Peter David was a good writer til I read the X-Factor Investigations stuff.

General Comic Discussion / Re: Favorite Comic Artists
Last post by fennshysa - June 10, 2024, 10:31:52 PM
I love so many of them. Bryne and Davis had some solid years of work.  I like Art Adams from those days. I've sort of forgotten about Salvador Larroca. He was good.

I think that Mike Zeck the guy who did the original Secret Wars and many other things may be one of the most overlooked artists from the 80s.

Jim Lee and Todd McFarlane. Mark Bagley may be the most prolific good comic artist ever. When lots of artists couldn't even meet their deadlines he was drawing 2 monthly comics! Well.

Greg Capullo, Tony Daniel, and Darrick Robertson.

I love Scottie Young's baby covers. Mike Deodato and Clayton Crain. Pepe Larez (his Deadpool X-Force mini series is probably my favorite art ever.) It's as cool as I thought X-Force and Liefeld was when I was a kid.

I still like Quesada's stuff too. The Kuebert brothers. Especially the one who drew wolverine forever.

My faves include John Byrne (especially his earlier stuff), Alan Davis, Carlos Pacheco, Bill Willingham, and Salvador Larroca.

I've regularly read comics for over four decades, and have around 14 long boxes full.

Sadly, for the last couple years I've pretty much quit reading new stuff, with the exception of Saga (which I collect in trades).

Welcome, Anyonecanbethebug!

That's too bad that you didn't get a warmer reception on FB.  I understand, as I felt one of the early responses I got somewhere was kinda rude, too.  That said, I continued on, and have found the community to be really welcoming and awesome, after that initial response.

Looking forward to seeing what you've made!

Quote from: justa on May 22, 2024, 09:00:19 PMWelcome aboard, Ralph.
The forum could use some new blood - posting has been pretty slow for a while.  Maybe you could share some of your customs here on the board?  I like seeing other people's takes on characters.  That would be cool.  (In your "origin" scenario, I was the father who played with my kids.)

Yeah I feel the same way about the game itself. I'm "younger" (35), and I've gotten some folks into the game who are in their late-20s/early-30s, but can't get none of them to post/be active. I moderate an OP discord and there's a lot of activity there, but it's mostly just like 6 of us who don't like FB anymore.

I'll def post up some customs. I just wrapped up a set based off of the video game Hades, and my partner and I have Buffy (seasons 1 and 2) and Chrono Trigger sets in the works as well, so I'll post some goods up soon.
