Remove all hits from Target Teammates Permanent Record and Current Battle, and switch places with Reserve. May be played from Reserve. (OR)

i believe in another topic, we established that a ko'd teammate is still a teammate (since you can remove hits with EEs).  so can hawkeye still play this card even though the character is ko'd?

i'm guessing yes

The "target" part is throwing things off, though, that might not change things. There aren't a lot of other cards with "target teammate" (one of: giving them playable cards, shifting attacks to them, giving them Scarlet Witch's inherent, and Dazzler's teammate into reserve) and none of them suffer/benefit from the ruling of the above.

Normally you wouldn't be able to target a KO'd person (you couldn't attack a KO'd person to prevent your attacked from being blocked with a placed AG for example).

If you would, however, the character would still be KO'd, the hits won't be recorded to the venture and the reserve would swap places with a KO'd teammate.

I guess so, that's according to this meta:

Meta #128 - Once a Character is KO'd, removing hits afterwards (either with negates, Master Mold (EE), or other legal methods) will not bring the Character back.

that's a good point that i overlooked about 'target', jack.

i would argue that you cannot target a character who isn't there

of course the target still there
just ko'd
next battle however....the target would be "evacuated"
thus removed from the game

"target is knocked out  i repeat target is knocked out"

the target isn't there though, according to the rules

'When a Character is K.O.'d, a number of things occur. They are as follows:
•The Character Card is immediately removed from play and placed into the Defeated Characters Pile.'

I just want to be sure that I have one thing right, though - Phoenix changes all of this, right? First, in that she can still be voluntarily targeted by the opponent posthumously (to win venture, for example)... so, that Hawkeye card could be used on her too, right?

for that matter, there are other card that she could play posthumously to great effect that way too, right? like FL-cards (Capt. Brit, Rogue, SpiderGirl), and others like that... seems right...

Yep, you can use Phoenix as a target (or anyone with the LG special in play or a similar card). I have always attempted to Action Leader into a Kirigi'd Hand in my H1N1 deck.

yes. I don't remember which, but there's a meta rule about it.

Yes, that is the proper "dead is dead" ruling where even if a character were to have their hits removed, they would still be dead.
