based on specials
I personally would put spider man in reserve
and the others up front
grifter and maverick and their ma specials can get past activators and are good for s ko's
angel and his nj special can get past cards like stars and garters and also good for s ko's

you cant use the danger room as a battle site because of angel
so if you want the extra defense theres of course the outback
but stark enterprises has http://overpower.ca/cards/specials/542.png
but you  you already knew that
you're welcome

Can grifter's EX (Smart @$$) be played defensively?  If so can grifter use it to defend for his teammate?

I can do Spidey in reserve unless someone has a good reason to put him up front.  His specials seem weakest of the four.  I'm thinking Wall Crawl, Taunt or Web as his one special card I put in the deck.  Maybe Over the Edge.  I think it's potential to be an 11 is good.  Further thoughts?

Okay, modifying my post.  Here's my deck:

Angel, Maverick, Grifter, Spidey in reserve.
Marvel Manhattan Homebase

Stark Enterprises Battlesite: 9 specials
Cap = Sharon Carter(JC), Energy Replica(OF) (opd)
Hawkeye = Field Dressing(AL), Arrow Assault(AA)
Iron Man = Stealth Armor (AI) Armored Avenger (LO)
Scarlet Witch = Witchcraft (AD), Change Outcome (AO)
Spider-Woman = Web Lines(AG)

Maverick Specials:
Kinetic Absorption(LO)
Power Channel(NZ)
Freelance Spy(BG)
Combat Armor(MA) x2
Reaction Time(AR) x2

Angel Specials:
High Flyer(AG) x2
Neuro-toxin(HO) x2
Avenging Angel(NJ) x2
Millionaire Playboy(JA) (OPD)
Aerial Combat(FQ) (OPD)

Grifter Specials:
Bull's Eye Shot(MB) (OPD)
Coda Training(AA) x2
Team 7(MA) x2
WildC.A.T.(AD) x3

Spidey Special:
With Great Power...(OP)

Power Cards:
2x 1Int
1x 1Str

3x 2F

2x 3Int
1x 3Str

3x Mul4

1x Mul5(OPD)
2x 5F

3x 6F

3x 7F

2x 8F

9x Activators

Ally's:
1x 5Str or less

Teamworks:
1x 8F to use Str/Int
1x 7F to use Str/Int
1x 6S to use F/Int

I left out Nerves of Steel for Grifter because it seems really situational.  Other than that, I think I worked the specials as best as I could.  It seems to have lots of strong attacks, but might be a little weak on defense, and has no over the top attacks.  Consistent 6's might make up for that.  It's 61 cards, I believe... still not sure how many cards is good to use.  I can change the battlesite if you guys can think of a better one.  Maybe more beef and defense, but this site seemed like a good try.  I'll change it though.  I'm not picky.  I was also wondering if teamworks were good for this deck.  I'll probably be using my big power cards for defense.  I could use some events as well... just didn't look through my stuff to see what would work well.  Maybe you guys can come up with some tricks combining events and a different battlesite.  I'm interested to see what you all come up with.  Also, Scarlet Witch has a 6S (AR) and I could drop the numerical avoid to add it, then I could add Spider-Woman's avoid of 9 or less.  I chose the Witch because those 10's and 11's are gonna hurt and I wanted the better avoid, so I foreited the AR attack to reduce my chance of dupes.  I also considered adding War Machine's 4E combine with a fighting (for a big 12 with Maverick, or an 11 with anyone) and his special that lets him place one additional card.  I loaded the deck with specials, so it might be useful to place one extra special, but I don't like giving up an action that does NOTHING initially.  I also considered AnyHeroes, but I needed the defense... Power Leech is awesome though.  We don't play DOW, so battlesites are pretty good for us.  Okay... I'll leave it at that for now.  Help me out bros!

first, any time I use Scarlet Witch on a battle site, I use her AO and her AI. her displace Special is non-targeting, so it can be used against the Reserve, or the Homebase. this is especially helpful against an Any Hero deck if they're placing DoW, Power Leech, or even WHW.

as for the battlesite itself, just play-test-to-taste. if it seems people are dying quickly, you could either go with a more defensive Site, or you could reduce the number of exclusive cards for your top-targeted characters (probably Mav or Angel).

really, some of the best feedback is collected from actually playing games :)

I get ya about the AI... I keep forgetting that the wording changes everything.  As I was building, it didn't occur to me that Iron Man's was different than Scarlet Witch's.  No biggie... I'll change that.  But I don't get that numerical avoid.  I'll have to move it to Spider-Woman's 9 or less, which won't stop a big attack.  I wanna block 9's but those 10's or greater can get hard to handle with limited defense.  I guess I have more than I think though... I think there are 4 cards, counting Hawkeye's remove current battle hit, that act as defensive cards.  I might change the battlesite though... I'm not sure I like it.

oh yeah, also, i'd use Hawkeye's MARVELS card for the OPD. it is a tide turning card from a Battlesite! plus, it will help preserve/prolong life :D

I'm afraid I'll end up with a bunch of unusable specials if I swap out a frontliner with a reserve... but I guess if my guy is getting ko'd anyway, I'll end up with a bunch of unusables anyway, and I might as well win the venture that turn.  Is that logical?

Exactly right.

Also, looking throught your deck build, you didn't commit to a Mission/Event set yet, right? If you have it, you could really benefit from "Fighting Spirit Lives" from the Assault On Onslaught set. Otherwise, you might consider "Special Delivery" from the Annihilation Affair to help with that particular circumstance you pointed out.

I have the Onslaugth Events but no missions.:(  I could still play them without the missions though for fun.  We use proxies when necessary.

Should I venture high when I think I wanna play Action Leader?

proxies FTW!!

Also, yeah, generally venture high with it. Obviously you have to watch out for negates, and timing is crucial with that card (can't play it when the FL character is dead  :-\), but it's a serious Venture-shifting card!
