Would this change your deck build?

In the videogame, X-Men Legends (and it's sequel, to a lesser extent), Storm was totally B-A! You could launch a group of enemies into the air with a tornado, then unleash a totally devastating CHAIN LIGHTNING!
It was crazy cool.

Awhile ago, I was giving a lot of thought to changing or adding an Inherent Ability to some of my favorite X-men. Because of the XML games, and because she had a card with the same name, I thought, "Storm should totally be able to chain her CHAIN LIGHTNING..." So, I gave her the Inherent Ability,
"Storm may keep duplicate 'Chain Lightning' Special cards."

Then, thinking of making AA and AB cards smore playable in general (not that they're worthless, you understand), I thought, "How much would it change the landscape of decks if everyone could keep duplicate AA or AB specials?"

So I'll ask. How much would you change your deck building if you could keep duplicate 'AA' and 'AB' Specials?

Who needs this Inherent Ability the most?
(Nightwing? Carnage? Dr. Doom?)
Who should have this Inherent Ability, based on their comic book counterpart?
(Does the Hellfire Club generally send out 1 soldier at a time?)

I gave my opinion on this in the other thread, but I wanted to ask have you considered recycling those cards into the power pack?  :o  I'm just throwing it out there to see what you think.  This is in the same vein of, "I can do this all day."  ;D

Ooh, that's good too. i was also curious, with this thread specifically, who else should have this type of ability, based on comics or based on Overpower help-wanted signs  :D

The characters that first came to mind for this are the 'shooty' guys like cable, punisher, and deadpool.  I also thought about Jubilee, but she can already keep duplicate cards.

In considering which character you listed 'needs' that inherent ability the most I think you have to take in to account whether it alone is just enough to get them over the 'to play' or 'not to play' line.  In that context Nightwing simply needs more, due to stats and lack of other usefule cards, which leaves either Carnage or Dr. Doom.  From there I'd give it to Doom just for the possiblity of using his Doombots OPD with 2 or 3 of those AAs.  ;D

Regarding characters like the hellfire club, the Sentinels was the first character I thought of in the 'should have' catagory for that inherent ability, but of course they don't need it.

yeah, it's kind of silly when you start breaking down some of the mechanics of the game, as they relate to the comics. I mean, Colossus, Thing, all of the Supers - there's not much they have to do to "avoid" some attacks. It almost seems like some of the tougher (in terms of inpenetrable skins) characters could have had something like, "May not be attacked with Fighting attacks less than 4"
This is along the same lines as Wolverine & Sabretooth's Healing Factor. Seems like it could easily have just been an I.A., "During discard phase, Wolverine may remove 1 Power card hit from his Permanent Record"

on the topic of duplicate Chain Lightning, though - I did play a few games that way quite some time ago. I think the most I ever strung together was 4 and it made me very, very happy. It was quite satisfying to see the lighting chain between my Opponent's characters  ;D

I think with any game created out of comics media some fans will always have that feeling of wanting more - I mean just look at the DC set and Batman and poor little Nightwing  :-[ He's one of my all time favorite characters from the comics but since he is no where near as cool in the game as he is in the books, I have never even considered running him for more then a few seconds....
