Psylocke's MP

This isn't really a rules question, but I wanted to discuss this card.

Okay, Zealot's MP is for remainder of game and is a OPD.

Psylocke's isn't a OPD and its for remainder of battle.

It might draw a negate, but how much value are you getting?  Zealot's remains in play until it's negated, ensuring you get a negate for it.  Do I place Psy's to her, and leave it there until I'm ready to drop a good special behind it so it can't be negated unless they have multiple negate characters on their team?  And for it not to be a OPD, I was wondering if it's good, why not include more than one in the set?  Anyone want to paint a pretty picture for me?

There's a reason why we decided to only include one of these in our stack of Marvels.

I would say that most wouldn't find too much use in this card...  because almost no one likes to put a card in their deck that could be a waste of a turn, it would only really be useful in the situation that you mentioned, if you had a special to follow it that you REALLy didn't want to get negated.  But the list of things that would have to happen for this to pay off doesn't make it worth the deck space.

Just my opinion.

the trouble with it, imo, is that you're really spending 2 cards on 1 effect. at least with Zealot's card you're sure it will negate something at some point, so even if you are spending 2 in THAT battle, you may end up ahead in a subsequent hand. with Psylocke's, you have no such assurance.

having said that, there is one small advantage as a non-OPD, and that's use from a Battlesite. I've never used the card in a Psylocke deck, but I've included it several times under Mojoworld.

It's definitely a good option in a site.

As a card on the team, it's one of those hit or miss cards. Even Zealot's card is really only good if you can get it early, or in the right hand.

If you have a deck with a few tricks, and Psylocke happens to be on it, then I think it's worth putting one in, simply because with multiple tricks that you don't want negated, you hedge your bets. But if you're relying on that card, you'll find yourself disappointed more often than not.

But I tend to agree that it's greater use is probably from a battlesite.

And this is probably why there's only one in the set, right Jack? ;D  I'm learning...

Can the MP be played defensively?

No. How did you double post?

I guess because it had been a month or so between posts.  If I edit a post, does it notify everyone in the unread posts list?
