If an AK special is combined with a teamwork card are both subsequent bonuses doubled or just one of the bonuses?  A related question about the AK special is can it be combined with a power card used as one of the follow up attacks to another character playing a teamwork card?  ???

I would say both bonuses are affected. So you would get +2/+4, +4/+4, +4/+6 depending on which teamwork you use.

I may need some clarification about your second question, from what I'm reading.

Play Teamwork -> Play AK + Power card for 1st teammate -> Play Power Card for 2nd teammate?

From that, I would say no. Teamworks can only be coupled with Power Cards, never specials. Or generally, the Teamwork takes away the possibility to play any other cards other than Power Cards.

Your interpretation of my second question was correct and the logic of your answer makes sense. Thanks.  ;)

I know these are old, but I'm just going back through some of these posts for the first time...

So, the meta-rule that states that the follow up to a teamwork card attack is still considered a Universe card attack... wouldn't that mean that the AK can be combined there (as opposed to the beginning of the attack)? Seems to me like it could, which would prevent the entire Teamwork from possibly being negated- to only the last 1 or 2 attacks...

No, the AK must be combined with the actual universe card, not applied retroactively. But it is legal to play it with a TW as far as I remember, so you can double the TW followup bonuses.

But you are right about the negate - if you play the AK with a TW, then your TW is now negatable, because stopping the AK with a negate cancels the entire attack.

What about expanding usefulness?! lol

You know what... the special specifically states that the card is played with any 1 action involving a universe card. It doesn't say that it has to be played WITH the universe card... I would be willing to side with you and argue that you can apply it either way - Either with the TW at the beginning, OR just a follow up.

Of course, officially that's not what it's meant to be... but it's worth implementing to make yet another card that much more versatile.

AK + TW negated means both go away.  Same thing for confusion, but what if Strange's AD or a 6 PC is played does the special survive/affect follow up(s)?

chuu

Yes, the doubled bonus remains...imagine department h with a character with AKs...

I think danger room with gambit would be the better bet..

I agree with chuu and braveheart!
