Could just be a variant of M:TG's 2 Headed Dragon that my friends and I simply adopted for OP, but I could have sworn it was in the rule book.  My memory is really reaching though, since that was pretty close to 15 years ago.

I found the "Two-Headed Mutant" variation rules... They are in the back of the original VS system rulebook, but I imagine a variation of the variation could be made for OP. I will see what I can spin and post what I've got.

Three player mexican standoff sounds pretty sweet - will definitely have to try this - or a variation of it....if i get three people together at once
