How much use do you get out of single power type avoids like Carnage's Climb or Namor's Winged Feet? I often skip these in deck builds because 1/4 types seems like a long shot. I was wondering if my perspective was wrong.

Try not to think of it in terms of right and wrong. Look it as to how much use you think you'll get from the card.

I often use Heroes for Hire's Power Man and Ghost Rider's Fire and Brimstone (granted they avoid 2 different power types) because I know those characters will be targeted and those cards get used. So they're not a waste.

Also the teammate avoids that defend only a single power type get use as well, particularly the ones playable from reserve. (IE Sabretooth or Black Widow)

Even from a battlesite, if there's no other AD card (like Onslaught's Citadel) then you have a case for it.

But if you don't think you'll get use out of it, then it's not worth adding to a build. Namor has a far superior defensive card as it is, and Unless the rest of your team is really weak, Carnage just isn't a prime target.

Note:  This post is in NO WAY a refference to rules that should change,or a cards usefulness.  Just me noting observations.

I was always partial to War Machine's AD.  Shield Teammate - "Teammate may avoid 1 Energy attack of 9 or less"

Talk about requirements, it requires: 1. A teammate 2. An Energy attack 3. That attack to be valued at 9 or less.

Any why can't Captain America's Mighty Shield be used to protect himself?  Doesn't he protect himself more then other people in his immediate vicinity?

I think in retrospect, that would have been the card to give Cap - just the 1-9 for himself or teammate. Thematically it works, though I like Cap as he is... good stats and good specials.

I wasn't crapping on Cap being unusable or anything, just a thought that if anyone deserved a "self or teammate may avoid..." it would be Captain America.

Why doesn't Red Skull have an Expendable Ally card like Doom?  Anyone else notice that the last AC specials printed were in the Batman/Superman set?
