Nice, I'll add you later. I got a few games in with Zippa Head, but now my OP online has gone back to not working.

figured i'd post another question here

so, i got the program to work, and was building a deck, then it wouldn't let me add certain any-heroes.  the message 'one opd per deck' kept popping up, despite it not being in the deck yet (leech, new universe, guardian angel and DoW in particular)

Yeah, you have to enter the Any Heroes first, before any other specials (Or possibly any other cards) otherwise you get that message. It's a pain.

SUCCESS!!! (edited for better spelling...geez; not sure on the defenition of irony, but that's gotta be close)

if anyone's willing to set aside a time to play, and is patient as i learn the program, i'm game.  built a completely new deck for me

is there a read me file anywhere with instructions for connecting?  i'm pretty computer illiterate.  also, i don't have messenger :(

Nate Grey

I'm like breadmaster, I got it to work but I don't have messenger. :( Although I do have facebook.  :)
It also took me a while to learn the program, but you do eventually get the hang of it.

Instructions?

To host:
Simplified instructions are to get your own IP address, can be found here http://overpower.ca/port
Choose a number from 10000 to 65535, that's your port. Choose something high, it doesn't matter what it is.
Now, you'll also need to know how to forward a port on your router (assuming you have one). PortForward.com can help with that.
Once that information is setup, give the IP address and port to your partner to...

To connect:
In most cases, you shouldn't need to open ports or anything.
Type in your partner's IP address and port and connect. It may help to cross your fingers at this point.

Hamachi solves the port thing but people are saying they have problems with it. I haven't used Hamachi in a long time so I can't vouch for the service (last time I used it was in '08, I have a 5.1 address from /way/ back :D).

just sent out a bunch of invites (and accepted an old one that must have been there for a while...didn't know i had messenger installed...)

Hamachi works great and It's very easy to use. Ive played alot of games using a similar program for another card game with it. It's suppose to clone your IP adress or something like that. I feel safe using Hamachi and I don't have to mess with that port forwarding thing. I've used Hamachi successfully using computers with Windows XP and Windows 7. You can dowload the free program at https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/  My OP Online app works fine and I'm looking forward to playing a game. Feel free to join my Hamachi network. Intially, I had problems loading the deck editor, but I did the extract and run as administrator thing and it runs smoothly now.
