Mojo CP or Dazzler BY + Longshot HM: Combo?

Technically, Mojo CP doesn't state 'discard', but the cards are put into the appropriate piles.  I'm skeptic about the CP but BY actually uses the word 'discard'.

Also, according to Meta Rule #136:

The phrase "cards discarded this battle" includes - cards discarded during the discard phase, cards discarded because of events, and cards discarded because of a Special that was played. It does not include cards that were discarded prior to events being played, cards that were discarded from the draw pile, or cards that were discarded because a Character was K.O.'d.

Any input?

Thanks!

Good idea.  I think the synergy between BY and HM is very literal, but I could be wrong.  The reason I'm checking is because I have been surprised by rulings in the past.  I think we can all agree that some of the rulings are unexpected.  CP and HM is another story, simply because of the word 'exchange' is used in place of 'discard'.  I'm wondering if the action supersedes the word.

I guess I should also clarify whether or not Dazzler's BY makes one discard activators as well because they do contain energy icons, as mentioned here:

Meta #111 All icons which appear on a card count as an icon, even if that aspect of the card is not being used.

EDIT: I found this in regards to BY, so I think that clears up that query.

yes i think those links would be fair. discarding is discarding as long as it goes to dead pile or power pack but not to the defeated characters pile.

Interesting observation regarding where cards are discarded.  Why wouldn't it include activators (or other cards that go to the defeated characters pile)?  They're being discarded, just to a different place.

Funny you post this as the past couple of days I've been tinkering with a deck using that longshot card and had the same sort of question about its potential 'synergy'.

Just for clarification, in addition to events and KO'd characters, the special cards from under a battlesite go in the defeated character pile after use, not the activators used to draw them.

The key to using Purity Of Thought is the "discard" is a "forced" discard. Not a discard that is a reaction to a card normally played. So, when you exchange an Activator for a Special, and you "discard" the Activator, it doesn't count toward Purity Of Thought. If your opponent lands Power Leech, and you have to discard 4 Activators, then it does count toward Purity Of Thought.

If an Event forces discards
If another Special forces discards
If Duplicate/Unusable rule forces discards ... these all contribute.

If you discard a card after playing it, exchanging it, tearing it in half, ... it doesn't count.

so if i have long's hm in play and use dazzler by, then i can activate the hm effect.

another hint for using these cards in a deck is to always make note of this round's discards. turn the stack of discards every battle.
