'All Captain America Special cards are doubled when determining Venture total this battle.'

suppose I play one of these from a character on the team, and a second from the battlesite.  would I also double the first CQ played?

so if I landed cap's 7i, would it count for:

14 venture (the CQs are redundant)
21 venture (7 for the special, and 7 more for each CQ)
42 venture (7 for the special, 7 for the second CQ, 28 off the first CQ boosted by the second {7X4})

that's a lot of venture!

EDIT:

I guess the 3rd one should be only 35 venture, as I counted the special twice in the 28.  so:

35 venture (7 for the special, 7 for the second CQ, 21 off the first CQ boosted by the second {7X4-the original 7})

I made a deck with blackwidow and beyonder also with a bs that has cap in it. Beyonderplays it then bs on Beyonder. If it would work that is crazy even a 4 hit would be devastating.

double is double.

i dont think double doubling would happen.

maybe if a card said, "any bonuses applied to venture are doubled". or something to that effect.

playing 2 inspirations is just redundant.

Yah, I agree. It would be the 7i twice

if you play the battlesite one on someone else, their AR would be 14 more and that IS a lot of venture!

widow cap (or superpatriot) sable.....up front 76 points with patriot
you get the idea for a deck

which begs the question
if another CQ is activated say silver sable's comes up  does it double the already doubled venture?

one of each of caps specials is in play (25X2=50 after inspiration) would that become 100?
redundant or not  is what i said possible

Hi,

Unfortunately OverPower never addressed the impact of stacking venture multipliers. Other games [like D&D etc] treat a double of a double as a triple, since each card or effect adds the same venture again i.e. 7, x2 ==> 7 + 7. So 7, x2, x2 ==> 7 + 7 + 7.

I think personally this is a better intepretation than saying since both cards say venture is doubled, then venture is simply doubled i.e. both have the same identical effect, which is an absolute double of the venture score.

Probably another Rules Committee question, if we ever get around to striking one up at one of our major meets. Trust me, OverPower does have a bunch of rules holes that could use fixing. I agree with BBH, we probably need to take the mess of metarules, rules, rulings etc. etc. and put together a way more comprehensive set that handles situations like this.
