Ah yes, the game outside the game. Remember the people who would have different characters on the back of a sleeve, then flip them over to reveal their real lineup right before the match began? I wonder what little psychological edges you could try to gain to keep them from realizing the point of your deck.

I know when I played HeroClix there were guys at the tourneys that would show up early to see who everyone was running on their team and they would build a team accordingly - usually in a manner designed to beat whomever they thought was the toughest built that night. Now I will admit with Heroclix, I was guilty of the good 'ol mirage technique. I got tired of guys playing like this, so I would build 2 teams - a crappy low on the hit power team and place it on the table about a half hour to gametime - and I would also build my "actual" team. Sometimes it was a beatstick team and sometime it was a strategy team - either way no one knew until game time  ;D

But as for pulling pregame shannanigans just to do it....I never go that far.....

I do always place cards in a certain order, almost unthinking. If I hadn't read this post I may not have even realized that I do it!
Beta Ray Bill makes a WHOLE lot more sense at Avengers Mansion than Beyonder showing up and helping out during a fight. - breadmaster
