Few questions I was wondering about

If an AK special that says "Play with 1 action involving a Universe card. Universe card bonus is doubled," is played with the initial attack of a teamwork card does it double both follow up bonuses or just one? (its says 1 action)  Secondly, can a character play this card with one of the follow up attacks of a teamwork card if another character played the initial level 6 attack?

Once an AS special that says "Acts as level 8 strength attack +1 for each hit on Hulk's permanent record" lands on an enemy character does the value of that card continue to increase as the character listed on it takes more damage?  In other words if Hulk has level 2 & level 3 fighting power card hits on his permanent record and plays that card against wolverine, it would count as a level 10 attack.  If wolverine takes the hit and follows up with two more fighting attacks that both end up on Hulk's permanent record, does wolverine now count as having 12 hits on his own permanent record from the Hulk's original attack? (Even better if wolverine had 18 hits on him, after the level 10, would the extra two hits landing on the hulk automatically KO wolverine...potential double KO!!!)  ;D

The BC specials that both Hulk and Venom can play cause the reserve character to wait a turn longer before entering the front line after one of the front line characters is KO'd.  The two cards have the same code, but two different wordings.  >:(  My question is when can these cards be played? From the meta rules it seems they couldn't be played in the actual battle when the reserve charcter is brought up to the front line, but rather before that.  So is the answer after an opponent's hero is KO'd, but before the next battle? (so you're hoping your opponent doesn't concede??? ???) Or could you play it at any point and when an opponent's hero is KO'd the desired affect happens? (They are "one per decks" for goodness sake... ;))

AK: No, the character playing the AK must be playing the teamwork, it must be played with.

AS: No, the + value is only used to determine the initial damage, and nothing to do with venture or cumulative KO. As stated in meta #34:
QuoteBonuses/penalties granted by Special cards are never counted towards damage or Venture Total unless specifically stated otherwise on the Special.

BC: I would say it's after a front-line character is KO'd but before the end of the battle, based on the meta rule.

so
could reed play an 8i tw  making the bonuses +4 and +6?

Demacus

Yes he could Steve.  Dangerous, but at the cost of an extra card, either placed or in hand.  Weigh your options carefully, cause if you can't KO your target with your teamwork set-up, you could end up losing venture.  Worse case scenario, your opponent nails you with Confusion, and you are out 2 cards to their 1. Ouch

I did get to use the AK-Special from Danger Room with my Department H team! Now that was some Teamwork Bonus! We agreed that the Teamwork received the doubling, then the bonus from the Homebase. So it was 8F+5+7!

Even without the Homebase, it seems like the AK is best served from a Battlesite

Some of you guys resurrect more dead threads than the walking dead.  (love that show)

Bake to the point. Usually 'threadcromancy' is bad form. Especially when the response to an old topic is just "I agree", or "this is nice," stating the obvious. Not trying to be a jerk, but pointing this out in case some don't know. If there's a really new take/question  or perspective on an old topic that's one thing.  Or if there's a ligitimate contribution to a current discussion you can post a link as ncannelora does here
http://www.beenhereandthere.com/SMF/index.php?topic=799.msg9116#new .

Not trying to start anything here. I'm just saying.

So if negated, the bonus goes away or special AND TW go away?

drdeath25

At first i thought only the special went away.

But after carefully reading the text "play with", I think both would go away since you negated reed's ability to play the universe.

Not sure on this one.

BasiliskFang

the special enables the tw. the negate disables the special. so, no tw.

doesnt make sense to me
i can see negate negating the doubling of bonus
but the tw still goes

interesting use of a negate
maybe make the opp negate that then hit with a big special

BigBadHarve

If you're playing them together, a negate cancels the whole thing, including ending the teamwork.

Meta #97: If a Special that indicates it should be "played with" another card is negated, both the Special and the card it was played with are discarded. If a negate is played against a Special indicating that a card should be discarded or exchanged, then the negation takes place prior to the discarding
