lol...  I didn't even think about that.   :-\  I just took the hit.   The wording on Tripwire seems sort of ambiguous about it.

Ruling from the crowd please.

Also did we change the bracket from top 4 to top 8?

Yeah, she would have need to boost the power card. Still still must be able to block the hit.

As far as I know, it's still top 4. But Breadmaster's the one to ask, it's his show.

-BBH

Oh! I didn't realize we were only doing a top 4! I need to get my game up and up, then!  :-[

And, with Tripwire, the Power cards must be equal to eachother and her Power card must defeat yours, in order to work. So, if she has Fall Into Place played, or a BG/BH for the team, or CM, something like that to boost her Power card or reduce your bonus.

In theory, it's fun.

But if you put all the little stupid rules together, it doesn't work. Allow me to illustrate another example how how useless the 'official' rules can be:

The Tripwire/Ninja trap/Rock and Roll specials specifically say that the power card used to defend hits the attacker.

However, the rules makers at the time clearly worded the 'shift' rule with an unquestionably dumb phrasing. After shifting, the attack is now considered to be coming from the character the attack was shifted from. So if you ninja trap such an attack, you must according the letter of the rules, hit your own character with the power card.

Sound dumb? It is. But I don't doubt someone thought that a shift/ninja trap combo might be too powerful and had to find a way to nerf it.

Oscorp

Still waiting to see the much anticipated Dr.D vs Ncan showdown.  I hope that Ncan whips him to get some mild revenge for all of the insults and taunting he has been enduring on here.

Assuming Dr.D hasn't packed it in for the duration that is.   :P

wow. and where is this ruling about the shifted attacks now being from your teammate? Also, was that ruling specifically applied to the Event, as well as the Specials?

idk if he's still in it. At the moment, I'm more concerned with beating Onslaught and Bios, considering I was just reminded that it's only a 4-man race after the Round Robin  :-[

It's in the tournament guide. 'The Shift Rule'

It also gives the explanation about how shifted cards are shifted 'behind' cards in play. So BJ specials (charm), EB specials (Brood Spawn) etc. aren't affected. You can't shift an attack to an EB, it passes through and hits the target.

And yes, it applies to any shift circumstance, not just specials or the event.

yeah, I knew about the double-shift rule... and the Tournament guide specifically mentions the Event? Man, I'm really struggling with this!

It doesn't actually mention the event. If just refers to shifts. The event creates a shift situation, so the same rule applies.

I disagree. I think it's still the initial attack. Does anyone have a Judge's ruling here?

Bios

Was able to connect to Onslaught with some help from drdeath25. Unfortunately our game seemed to crash near the end of round 2. Couldn't contact Onslaught after that, since he is not in MSN. Hope we can resume that game soon.

Trying to get my last games out of the way. Sent invitations today to demascus and ncann when i saw them online, and got no response.

Nate, you want to play?

Onslaught

BBH match report: I've already forgotten the details, the two main things I remember are: First turn no conceding/venturing event, I had one dupe he had none, he played Ghost Riders draw 3 and KOed White Queen/Beyonder. Turn 2 I think he conceded before battle. Turn 3 I bet 5 for the win knowing his battlesite didn't have a negate, I had a negate, Beast activator for Acrobatics, Morph Activator to copy Acrobatics, and the "no teammate" event in play, so my plan was do Acrobatics on both of my chars and negate his offensively played Lil' Longshot. Morbius' negate numerical broke this play up, which for some reason I thought might have the word "teammate" on it. I think the next turn I drew the KO event, and then lost by KO/venture to a Penance stare.

Ncannelora match report: He accused me of cheating after the game crashed, there is a really long log that I'll save everyone from reading here. Overtime from the forums was watching our match live and if he wants to give his side of the story later he can, but uh yeah. He would like to resume the match previous to a point where I've already shown him a screenshot of my hand and told him how I would win the game from there, but that's pretty dumb. I'm also not keen on replaying a match with someone who asked if I would like to give him the win because his imaginary recap (nothing in the game log supports this) has me drawing an extra card, so I dunno.

Bios: I played BBH instead of resuming with you since his PM said you were heading off for the night, hopefully we can reconnect later.
