Is the "run as administrator" thing something you guys selected in the OP program or somewhere else on your computer? Would I need to try Windows XP compatibility mode if I do have Windows XP or if I don't? Trying to get the program to work, I can open the program itself but not the deckbuilder!

Jack

It looks like, if you aren't an administrator on your system, you need to run the application as the administrator. Right clicking the OpDeck or OpOnline application should display a menu item that's Run As Administrator. You do not need to run the application in Compatibility mode as previously thought.

To get OPOnline to open withoiut getting any error messages...

If you have Windows XP you are fine, the program will work.

If you have Windows Vista, you must select "Run as Administrator", to get the program to work.

If you have Windows 7, you must be running it in XP compatibility mode, to get the program to work.

Hope that Helped.

BBH, I will be a little busy in the coming few days, but i will get around to adding you soon, and we can play a game or two.

I do have Windows XP and am on the administrator account. As I said before the program itself seems to be working fine, but when I try to open the deck builder to make a deck, I get a window with "Run-time error '-2147221164 (80040154)': Class not registered" and the only option being to click "OK". When I first opened System32Package.exe it told me to save to my System32 and System folder in my Windows folder on the C drive. I first saved to the E drive where I have the program saved which worked fine, then tried to save it in the System32 folder and ran into some difficulties and it wound up not working, and then tried to copy it to the System folder which worked. I tried going into the deck builder both from My Computer and from inside the OverPower program and get the same error message both ways.

Make sure you are running at least Windows XP Servicepack 2 (Perferably 3).... Try to unzip the system 32 package into your windows folder. Select YES if it asks you to overwrite any files. I think there is also a program called "invision" if i remember correctly that there is an install file for that you have to install to use oponline on windows XP.

Anyway, not getting the deckbuilder opened problably means you dont have the most up to date servicepack for windows XP..... If the actual OPOnline program is not opening also i assume you did not install the system 32 package properly.

I'm trying and help you man.... I have ran OPOPnline on all windows OS's, so wish i could just do it for you, lol. Keep trying. Its worth it, mate.

Okay I deleted all the OP program stuff I had and downloaded it again and put everything in the C:Windows file. I also found out that I have had the most recent XP servicepack on my PC since I started trying to get this to work, so I don't think that's it. I'm still having the same exact problem with the actual program opening and working fine but the deck-builder (OPDeck.exe) is still not opening and giving me the "Run-time error '-2147221164 (80040154)': Class not registered" message.

Do you have any more info on that "invision" software? I am willing to try anything, I really want to get this to work!

Instead of installing 'System32 Package' to c:/windows/system32, just allow it to extract to the default directory (which is where OPDeck is located). OPDeck.exe will look locally first for the dlls before looking in system32 directory.

I wasn't able to duplicate your error, but if you have some anti-virus software installed, I have a good feeling it might be the cause of the error. If you don't have AV installed, the above solution should resolve the problem regardless.

I have a notion to make a max-6, pre-IQ deck... I was going to make it simply a max-6, 1st edition deck, but I really wanted 2 particular specials out of PowerSurge.
So, it's going to be Cable, Bishop, Jubilee, and Psylocke in Reserve.  I'm hoping it'll work well.  It seems to be quite a balanced deck.  It has solid attack specials and good powergrid diversity, providing decent Teamwork spread.  It also appears to have great defense (at least on paper).
I'll be trying it out as soon as I can get OP online up and running (or this Friday night, when my buddies and I play).  I'll be sure to post how well it does.
BTW, in Partners OP (http://www.beenhereandthere.com/SMF/index.php?topic=109.0) I can see it's defense being especially helpful =]

So, that team worked considerably well! Well enough, in fact, that it has since inspired me to make other decks with a similar restriction - PreIQ. I was feeling a little overwhelmed by the shear number of variables and I wanted to make a simplified deck. So, I set to work (keeping in mind that my collection is X-men peeps).
So far, I've made/played...
Sabretooth, Bishop, Nightcrawler, & Morph
- this one was a lot of fun, but not quite as good as the next...
Magneto, Cyclops, Banshee, & Iceman
- this one has fared very well so far, and so I'm excited about the next...
Juggernaut, Beast, Cable, & Rogue
- this one has an obvious setback for a lack of a level 8 Strength, but I think it'll have slightly better defense (via specials) than the previous Energy and Fighting teams.

I used a Ravencroft deck against Bios once in online play, and he laughed at me before we started the game....  but after running over his team with Rhino and his Romp'n Stomp and Rhino hide he wasn't laughing anymore.  It was Rhino, Hobgoblin and Green Goblin up front with Doc Ock in reserve.  I fully admit it isn't the best team playing but they shouldn't be laughed at.  lol
i love cards like romp'n stomp

i may use doc ock in reserve with the goblins and rhino

I recently underestimated my own deck! Last Saturday, we held a little 6-team, double elimination tournament and my deck actually went undefeated
(3-0)...

I had it in my head to make a team using a ton of cards from The Marvels. So, I had to use a Battlesite, and this one had the most possible cards from The marvels:

Krakoa - Angel NJ, AG; Colossus LO, AR; Polaris DB, EB; Sunfire AM, MT; Thunderbird NK, FX; Wolverine AC, FD. 7 cards from The Marvels.

For the line up, I went with Crystal (3xEE), 3stat Cyclops (2xFT), Phoenix (2xLO) and Dark Phoenix[R] (1xEB). 9 cards from The Marvels.

So, I had a total of 16 cards from The Marvels, and I was kind of geeking out about that. At the same time, the deck didn't look very balanced. For one thing, having 3 teammate avoids (Phx' LO), with no consistent access to "Get off me" cards (BJ, CD, AH), except her personal CW (harder to reach than the same types via activators) - I was concerned there. Also, I had no negate, an obvious short-coming. It had a relatively potent attack array, though...

Obviously, it was more potent than I realized, and I had a few serious strokes of luck (got Standoff into play in all 3 games!), but I really didn't expect to do well, let alone win our little tourney. I was pleasantly surprised  :)
