spidey and doppelganger pair easily, but i'm not sure what the connection between beast and bastion is

need another hint!

the focus should be on the "man" portion of Spidey...

spider-MAN... Doppleganger...
spider-MAN... Beast...
spider-MAN... Bastion...

spider-MAN... vs... Doppleganger...
spider-MAN... vs... Beast...
spider-MAN... vs... Bastion...

it seems like it's

man vs man
man vs beast
man vs machine

if so, that's virtually impossible to crack :(

it was tough, no doubt. I just liked the literature theme and when you're the one who knows the answer, it always seems more obvious  :-\

Hulk: Mr. Fix-It
Spider-Man
Wolverine
Ghost Rider

This might be completely crazy, but those characters were in sequential order in the 2011 Heroclix release 'Incredible Hulk': Wolverine #035, Mr. Fixit #036, Ghost Rider #037, Spider-Man #038.

If that's not the answer, it's a very crazy coincidence.

did you see the answer to that theme?  it's the 'new' fantastic four

I'm not too familiar with heroclix, but I suspect someone in the office is as big a geek as we are ;)

Not sure what happened there - for whatever reason I thought that was the newest one.

I've got one:

Absorbing Man (5-5-7-1)
Hulk (1-3-8-6)
Juggernaut (4-5-8-2)
Thing (1-5-8-3)

Any guesses?

is it comic related?

Yes...interestingly enough, I think it would make a decent deck, but it definitely follows a comic theme.
