Kind of along the same lines that Matt was posting about in another post (he wanted a thor/iron man team), I am looking to build a good Avengers team for my little brother and would appreciate the outside insight into some ideas. He isn't fully adversed in comics as of yet - he has really only gotten into the 'comic world' for the last few years and most of that has been watching animated movies, cartoons, and movies. Because of this most of his preferences are based off of the movies. Anybody have any good thoughts that would incorporate any of these guys: Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, War Machine, plus your general guys like X-Men, Spiderman, etc. - doesn't have to be just this, but I want to have at least a good base of characters that he will 'know' from what he has been watching - he's 15 with a short attention span if he gets distracted  ;) so I don't want to throw all these characters at him like Malebolgia etc that may help to distract him.

So Far I've had thoughts of:
Black Panther, Black Widow IQ, Captain America IQ, Storm: Neutralized
Iron Man (IQ), Thor (IQ), Magneto (3Stat), Prof X (3 Stat)

Any thoughts on these or additional teams I could try out?

I'm a huge fan of the Avenger's Mansion homebase. It's one of my personal faves.

I use Hulk, Captain America, and Thor in the Front line with Black Widow in reserve (All will be featured in the upcoming movie, if your goal is to feature that.)

It's a dual grid deck, with a common 3rd suit, meaning if you only use teamworks that you can back up, you're still running 6 (without duplicating) if you use the AP teamwork. If you also run teamworks that are unique to characters you can get up to 10 of them, counting the AP teamwork without duplicating.

The Any Power power cards soften the blow from the dual grid. I run the following:

8 - AP, F, S
7 - AP, F, S
6 - AP, I, I
5 - MP, AP, I
4 - I, I, I
3 - I, I, I
2 - MP, MP, MP
1 - F, S

That particular build is specifically devoid of energy power cards because I usually Run Fatal Attractions as my mission, and get good use out of Shockwave Rocks the world. The 4s and 3s are all intellect to feed two doubleshots I throw in. Not a lot of people use doubleshots, but the Avengers Mansion team can really make good use out of them. But don't run more than 2, max!

I also use any heroes with this team. If running a site, I usually go with Outback.

I've had a lot of fun with this team over the years. It took me a while to find just the right build, but I'm happy with it.

I just did a similar team, but with Vision instead of Captain America, because my wife was using Cap on her team.

Android Endurance made the difference and I was able to win by KO in a nail-biter. Vision was well over 20 points of hits, but I was able to keep it to two power types.

I lost Thor in the first battle, but was also able to knock out Cap quickly. I brought in Hulk from reserve and he too was quickly taken down. Things didn't look good, but I was able to do some damage with Black Widow and Vision specials and hang in there. My wife is not an aggressive venture better. Had she bet bigger on a few hands she might have been able to win by missions before I was able to KO her team (Cap, Black Panther, Daredevil, & Elektra)

The team doesn't have to be all movie related, but I know him and it would be one of those little things that would make him like it even more if he was familiar with who he was playing with at the time. I think that team would make him very happy - pending how well he can handle a dual power deck. I will definitely write them down as a team for him to run when we play.  Thanks.

Vision could be a nice addition to a team - I know he really likes the Next Avengers Animated Movie and Vision had a pretty good part in it.

I think he would get a good kick out of the Origins team. When he watched it he couldn't stop talking about all of the characters in it.....great idea! Its teams like these that I love the ability to post on here for thoughts! Thanks.

Finally had a chance to play a game against my little brother with an Avengers team. I laid out several different options for him ( a lot based ont his post) and he chose a Stark Enterprises team: Hawkeye, Iron Man, War Machine, and Captain America.  It was a tough little team to take down!
