I believe that the last owners of the rights to the Marvel CCG is Upper Deck. They were the owners of VS system, and were planning on releasing a new card game carrying the images from the Marvel films a year or two ago, but appear to have scrapped that project. Unless they sold the game rights back to Disney, that's where they are.

If it is only $20 I'd probaly be interested in this too.

Great job being able to find a printer who can replicate the Overpower cards!

I'm sure a lot of us, including myself, would be interested in printing our own custom cards as well that look an feel like Overpower cards. Would be awesome if you can inform us of which printer you use. Sent you a PM about it as well.

Jack, goes through a pretty good breakdown of his stuff in this link: http://www.beenhereandthere.com/SMF/index.php?topic=779.15

Any idea on if the minimum number of orders for this set is projected to be met yet by the amounts of interest in it?
Beta Ray Bill makes a WHOLE lot more sense at Avengers Mansion than Beyonder showing up and helping out during a fight. - breadmaster

Well, the minimum the company would do was 18 sets. We received a lot of interest off the top, but it's since died down. I think everyone who wants one has chimed in. We're capping it at 80 sets. We've started work on the templates and will be creating the cards from scratch. When we have our first drafts. Everyone will be able to peruse the set before we lock in the orders. But have patience, it could be awhile.

You know saying that is like dangling a piece of candy in front of a little kid and saying "you can look at but you can't eat it for a long long time."  ;D

Bumping it up. We're looking for some help with the set. So far it's me, BBH and Bios. We're mainly looking for some help with the images, preferable high resolution if you can. We'll need about 92 of them for each of the new cards created (characters and specials).

I almost forgot about this project. Any chance in an update on the images needed. :)

For the art, we're hoping to use some of the comic book and trading cards from the late 90's and early 2000's. It gives it the same artistic look as the other cards.

KObossy

Hi, I will buy 2 sets. Me and my brothers have been playing since it came out. I will sneak this into my deck lol

If anyone's interested in a sneak preview of the Marvels expansion (and have a critiquing session) please send me a message here. You must be available tomorrow (Wednesday) in the evening EDT (-0400 GMT).

Sneak preview of the type of art we're going to be using for our Marvels expansion. We've decided to go with images from comic books and slightly modified them to enhance the character depicted.

We're still finalizing the types of border we're using around the card. The fonts and colours are finalized and will look very similar to those from the actual releases.

Cool project!  I would be interested in some sets!

Kyoujin

I would be interested in purchasing a set.

Just joined, and I could regale you with stories about Upper Deck and how they mismanaged Vs System. After they lost the DC rights and subsequently sank arguably the best CCG out there (don't get me wrong; I love my Overpower but a pro MtG player described his return to the MtG circuit as "having to go back to eating hamburgers after tasting filet mignon"), they started to plug a new game called Marvel Superstars that never got released. I think they still hold the Marvel rights and keep hinting at new ideas, but you cannot put any stock on that. They're too busy being sued and counter suing their parent company over Yu Gi Oh counterfeiting.

Like I said, I have stories and opinions.

The real point is Sign me up for a set or two of Marvels.
