Hello all!  I am a huge Marvel fan from way back in the mid '80's.  I started playing Overpower when it first came out in '95 and continued to collect it even after the official printing stopped.  I now have a fairly nice size collection but only get a chance to play at the kitchen table with my wife as nobody else that I know in my area plays the game.

I began playing Marvel VS when it first came out in '04 and played through its last run in '09.  I participated in Qualifiers, 10k's and a number of Pro Circuits before it ended.  I met a lot of good people and still play occasionally with a small group in my area.

I'm happy to find a group that shares my interest in Overpower!

I've played OP since about 98 or so... at least as much as I could.  Once production stopped, everyone lost interest except me.  So I bought everyone's cards off of them hoping that someday they would get some use.  I always felt that Overpower had great mechanics and loads of untapped potential.  Most everyone that ever played invented some characters and specials of their own...

I played VS for a little while... I felt like it just wanted to be Magic the Gathering, which I also love and still play.  But Overpower is the only game different from Magic that was as engaging and fun, in my opinion.  Nothing else ever did it for me.  Plus I like superheroes.  I don't read comics much anymore, but I still love lots of characters and pick up trade paperbacks from time to time.  I, too, am happy to find that there's a good group of players loyal to this fantastic game.

Welcome. I've actually recently gotten into Vs. I'm doing it more as a collection than to play it, but my brother and I have played a bunch of practice games with the starter decks and are looking forward to building our own decks. The nice thing about Vs is that the boxes are still relatively cheap compared to the hundreds I've spent on boxes of Overpower in the past three or four years.

I still like OP better, but Vs is fun.

I am also a long time OP fan, who switched to VS when VS came out...  mostly due to my old OP opponents moving away or losing touch...  If you look back over the history of Marvel based card games, Overpower, X-Men, ReCharge, VS, ect..  I'm sure I'm missing a few in there, OP was clearly the best with VS being the second most fun of anything released under the licence.  I'm always up to chat about either game.  :D  I was actually a level 2 judge for VS before the X-men (or was it JLA?) set dropped and I just couldn't afford to keep collecting, and wandered off to find cheaper hobbies.
